How We Met

I met you when you were just a small squiggle on an ultrasound screen. I got to see you as you inside your mom before you were born, and I went with your mom four times to doctor's appointments to check that you were growing and healthy. I was so excited to learn you were a girl!

I remember the day you were born. I drove your parents to the hospital the day before you were born, then went to the hospital in Toronto when you were just a few hours old. As I held you in my arms and looked at your perfect little face, I fell in love with you at that moment. I knew I’d love you with all of my heart for the rest of life.

Even before you arrived, our family was so excited to know you'd be joining us. There were two baby showers for you with lots of presents and people there, which shows just how much you were loved.

Your great aunt Terri had the first shower at her cottage on Rice Lake, and all your mom's cousins - your aunts Tuesday, Tiffany and Jessica, were there. Because your mom loved Muppets and we figured you would too, it was a Muppet shower, with Muppet cupcakes, Rice Krispie squares, plates and decorations. One of the gifts was a Cookie Monster stuffed toy. I bet you still have him.

The next shower was in Oshawa and the theme was Rainbow Wishes and Butterfly Kisses because you were a rainbow baby. So many friends came, as well as your great grandma, Great Aunt Terri, Aunt Jessica and even your Great Aunt Cheryl all the way from Texas!
