As you can imagine, I was so happy to be a Nana, especially to a baby girl as special as you were. Although you lived in Toronto and Pepere and I lived in Oshawa, I came to see you as much as I could. I visited you 37 times by the time you were three months old. I even got to drive you and your parents home from the hospital after you were born.

When you were almost two months old, it was close to Halloween time, so your mom dressed you up in an orange Jack O'Lantern onesie. We took you for a walk in your neighbourhood and took pictures of your as an adorable little Jack O'Lantern with the fall leaves as a backdrop.

Of course you got super spoiled your first Christmas! You and your parents came to my and Pepere's house on Christmas Day for dinner. Great Grandma and Grandpa were there too. You were smiling a lot by then and wore an outfit that said 'My First Christmas 2016'. You got some new pajamas with flamingos and cherries, a cloth book you liked to look at, and some rattles. Rufus our dog also loved you :-)

Why 17?

For some reason that I can't explain, 17 is a special number in our family. Yes, it's my birthday (February 17) but your mom's birthday...
